{PARTY} Fiona's Minnie Bow-Tique Party

What do you do when your child wants a character party but the thought of matchy-matchy party decor and Minnies everywhere makes you cringe? Compromise! My daughter's love for all things Minnie led us to the theme but that didn't mean a trip to the local party store. With some subtle Minnie touches, ombre details and lots of bows, Fiona's 2nd birthday was just enough Minnie to make both the birthday girl and momma happy.

We had some Bow-Tastic activities for the little ones; My handy hubby crafted a bowling alley (Fiona's Bow Rama) which looked amazing and provided hours of entertainment, a Bow Decorating Station where the kids decorated their own Bow/Bow-Tie which they later pinned on Minnie.

My super talented friend turned Fiona into a cartoon, which was my favorite part of so many of the little details. The guests enjoyed birthday cake attempted by me and fixed by my baker neighbor from Hilton's Gourmet Bakery, topped with a handmade clothespin doll cake topper (all the way from Australia), delicious macaroons from Hilton's Gourmet Bakery, ombre petit fours, pudding cups and many other sweet nom noms.

In the end I'm glad we embraced an overly popular theme, we'll always look back to Fiona's 2nd birthday and remember her love for Minnie Mouse.

  1. Hi there! Would you mind sharing where you got the pink foam cutouts of the bows? They're adorable!
