{PARTY} Birds

Happy Valentine's Day and in honor of this love fest I am blogging a party very close to my heart...my little girl's 1st birthday bird party.

Fiona loves animals, all of them, so an animal theme was only natural and after finding an amazing vintage birdhouse the theme was born...Birds! For entertainment we had an exotic animal presentation by a local animal rescue Amazing Animals Inc. It was a great way to combine a great cause with fun.
Now for the decorations...most of the birdhouses were repurposed thrift store finds and the rest were from Michaels & Hobby Lobby.  The wood cake bases were from EventWood and the custom clothespin cake topper was from Creating from the Heart. Fiona party dress was from Baby Gap and her tutu for the cake was a Popatu pink ruffle dress purchased from  RueLaLa and the amazing matching headbands were from Birdie Baby Boutique.

I can honestly say that I have never been more obsessed with a party before, my wedding included but the countless hours spent painting tiny birdhouses, searching thrift stores, cutting tiny bunting and birds out of felt was as fun as it was gratifying. Though Fiona will not remember this fete, we will always cherish this special day she spent with family & friends.

I hope you enjoy this party as much as we did.

  2. This is a very cool idea to sit down with the kids and make birdhouses together. So you will help the birds and teach the child to work for good. This is a very good initiative, but for pets it is better to buy a normal cage. You can contact top fin customer service and they will help you choose the type and size for your pet. They have a very wide selection and they always make sure that their customers are happy as well as their pets.
